Dr. Una Osili: The Measure of Generosity

The Harvard Club of Indiana will be hosting an evening with Dr. Una Osili on November 3. She is the Executive Director of Philanthropy, Strategy and Operations at the Eli Lilly and Company Foundation and an internationally recognized scholar in economics and philanthropy. In her book, The Measure of Generosity, Dr. Osili examines how charitable giving in America has shifted over the past two decades, from changing demographics and generational attitudes to the role of technology in opening philanthropy to all. Her message is an inclusive one: anyone can be a philanthropist. 

Dr. Osili led the research and writing of Giving USA, the longest-running and most comprehensive annual report on the sources and uses of charitable giving in America for more than 15 years. She also launched the research and publication of the school’s Global Philanthropy Tracker and the Global Philanthropy Environment Index. She is the founder of Generosity for Life, a digital platform, and chairs the school's signature research project, the Philanthropy Panel Study, the most comprehensive study of the generosity of American families over time. Dr. Osili received her bachelor’s degree in economics from Harvard University and her M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from Northwestern University.

The event will run from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, November 3 at the CNO Financial Group offices. It will be free for members of the Harvard Club of Indiana and $10 for guests.
